Noteworthy in terms of training and education is the partnership with the Portuguese Physics Society, within the scope of the MEDEA Project, which incentivises secondary school students to develop projects on the subject of very low frequency electromagnetic fields.
Targeting university students, we highlight REN's sponsorship of the Católica Top + and~to the Lisbon MBA programme, in addition to the annual REN Prize, an initiative implemented since 1995 aimed at promoting collaboration and interaction with universities by rewarding the best engineering work associated with the energy sector.
Within the scope of its policy of engagement with local communities, where there are company infrastructure and facilities, REN seeks to act as a socially responsible entity, expressing concerns on environmental protection, historical and cultural heritage and also on the legitimate interests of the populations of the surrounding areas.
This is implemented through support to civil society initiatives, which depend to a great extent on this type of contribution. this is done both through support for and participation in preservation projects as one of the measures to minimise impacts on the environment and heritage and also through actions promoted by the company to disseminate environmental awareness.
