Portuguese ventilators delivered to Casa de Saúde da Boavista

The first Portuguese ventilators developed by CEIIA - Centro para a Excelência e Inovação na Indústria Automóvel (Centre for Excellence and Innovation in the Automotive Industry) were delivered to Casa de Saúde da Boavista (a health centre), in Porto. The project, which included sponsors such as REN, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, "la Caixa" Foundation / BPI, the Amorim family and Luso-American Development Foundation, developed, in its first 45 days, 100 lung ventilators that will be delivered to the Portuguese National Health Service to help meet its needs.

The Athena project was developed by 80 engineers and 25 doctors and has already enabled sending 100 units to Brazil and the production of 400 more, which are waiting for the final certification from INFARMED (the Portuguese Authority of Medicines and Health Products) to be sent to Dubai, Angola and Brazil.

>In addition to the support given to the Athena Project, and since the beginning of the pandemic, REN has promoted multiple initiatives supporting the Portuguese National Health Service with personal protection equipment through the Portuguese State Secretariat for Health.
