REN renews support for MNAA

REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais has extended its partnership with the National Museum of Ancient Art (MNAA, Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga) for another two years, strengthening its commitment to the oldest and most representative Portuguese museum.

REN has been a patron of the MNAA since 2012 and, throughout this time, has sought to realise several initiatives that will bring the public closer to this important cultural space. This partnership has led to a number of activities, including REN day, which included free entry for all visitors to the museum, a special programme of live music performances, guided tours and several workshops. Another initiative was the "Family Workshops" that ran on the third Sunday of the month, between February and July 2015, and which involved a visit to the museum and a series of games linked to a practical aspect of the workshop, exploring different themes and techniques of working.

"It is a great pleasure to renew this partnership with the MNAA. In addition to its unquestionable importance to our country, as the first national museum, the MNAA has been able to innovate and attract new audiences. It has done remarkable work, consolidating its position and importance at both the national and international level," said REN's chairman, Rodrigo Costa.

For MNAA's director, António Filipe Pimentel, "With its stability and commitment to innovation, REN and the MNAA have developed a model partnership that has permitted the year-on-year development and consolidation of projects targeted at a young audience and which has captured creative energy. It clearly represents the model that the museum wishes to see replicated in its relationship with new partners."
