REN supports Vhils first exhibition in Beijing

The renowned Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto, who signs his work as Vhils, exhibited his work for the first time in Beijing, China. The exhibition, supported by REN and titled "Imprint", was inaugurated on 30 June. The session was opened by Portugal's Ambassador to China, Jorge Torres Pereira.

The approximately 70 pictures in bas-relief can be visited in the Cafa Art Museum until 23 July. REN, represented by Margarida Ferreirinha, Communication and Sustainability Director, and Nuno Rosário, Financial Manager, was present at the opening ceremony, which was also attended by Liang Chengzhong (pictured), advisor to the Chairman of State Grid International Development.

Alexandre Farto was born in 1987, grew up in Seixal, where he began by painting walls and trains with "graffiti", at the age of 13, before heading to London to study Fine Arts at Central Saint Martins. He gained prominence by "excavating" portraits into walls, a work acknowledged nationally and internationally and which has taken the artist to different parts of the world. In addition to several creations in Portugal, the artist has works in Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Italy, United States, Ukraine and Brazil.

In 2015, Vihls was considered by the American magazine Forbes as one of the "30 under 30", a selection of successful young people under 30 years.
