In 2005, REN adhered to ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which is a founding member of the Portuguese network and undertake to accept and " to incorporate the principles of the Global Compact in your strategy and daily activities, and to promote this initiative and its principles with your employees, partners, customers and the general public ".

REN respects the commitment as a result of accession in 2005 for the initiative United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), to provide information on the progress of implementation of the ten principles relating to human rights, labour practices, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
