Metrology Laboratory

The Metrology Laboratory, created in 2001 at REN Gasodutos, S.A., has a fixed laboratory, in Pombal, and a Mobile Unit. It provides calibration services for the equipment that make up the measurement systems that compose the Portuguese National Gas Transmission Network. The activities of the Metrology Laboratory are available for consultation on the website of the Portuguese Accreditation Institute, in Technical Annex M-0102, and in the Intermediate Flexible Scheme List.

• Calibration of Volumetric Gas Meters (Turbines, Rotary Pistons), with air at atmospheric pressure;

• Calibration of the Volume Conversion Factor in Electronic Gas Volume Conversion Devices;

• Calibration of Pressure measuring elements with display unit;

• Calibration of Temperature measuring elements with display unit.

The Metrology Laboratory is accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute, according to NP EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, which establishes the general competence requirements for testing and calibration laboratories, thus contributing to the company’s position as the main reference in the Portuguese National Gas System.
