The ongoing energy transition depends on an increasingly higher contribution from renewable energies to the production of electricity, accompanied by a decrease in the use of fossil fuels. To enable this entire process, one of the necessary components is the proper connection of new renewable power plants to the grids, ensuring that they meet the necessary conditions for the flow of generated energy.
Given the power already allocated for new photovoltaic power plants, the current PSEG (Public Service Electricity Grid) lacks capacity to accommodate new generation in this region.
Helping to meet the renewable energy targets set out in the Portuguese National Energy and Climate Plan 2030 (to accommodate new renewable generation).
