REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais, in the context of its social responsibility policy, donated a car to the Central Lisbon Hospital Centre - Hospital Dona Estefânia for the transport of children in its inpatient care who sometimes need to travel within the city of Lisbon to perform examinations and attend consultations in other clinical and hospital centres.
The transport service of the Central Lisbon Hospital Centre - Hospital Dona Estefânia performs multiple transport operations every day. This new vehicle will enable this important paediatric hospital to strengthen and renew its vehicle fleet, while continuing to ensure the safe and comfortable transport of sick children.
According to Professor Ana Escoval, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CHLC - Hospital Dona Estefânia 'it is a privilege to be supported by organizations which recognize the importance of cooperating with the public institutions that provide an essential service to the community. The donation of this vehicle constitutes a tremendous benefit to the hospital fleet, which is already several years old and has been the target of a great number of usage requests.'
For REN's Margarida Ferreirinha, 'it is with great pleasure that REN supports the activity of an institution as important as Hospital Dona Estefânia. We know how this vehicle will enable greater flexibility and responsiveness in terms of mobility, increasing the effectiveness of the transport service and ensuring complete safety and comfort for the sick children in need of travel'.
