REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais has been recognised for its environmental performance for the second consecutive year, receiving an A rating in the Climate Change questionnaire, the highest rating awarded by the CDP. This non-profit organisation manages the world's only independent environmental disclosure system, assessing various environmental parameters, including the setting of ambitious targets, transparency of procedures and supply chain involvement.
This distinction by the CDP is recognition of the work carried out by REN over the years. In its 2024-2027 Strategic Plan, REN reinforced its commitment to the Energy Transition, without compromising the financial soundness and operational excellence that have characterised the company, further strengthening its commitments to sustainability. In the Plan, REN committed to reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 60% by 2030 (+10 p.p. compared to 2019 vs. previously announced), and Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030 (compared to 2021) (+5 p.p. compared to the previous announcement), as well as achieving 100% green debt by 2030.
REN's performance has been recognised by several entities. In 2025, the company significantly improved its rating in Standard & Poor's Corporate Sustainability Assessment, achieving 78 points – 15 points more than the previous year – thanks to its performance in the areas of transparency, ethics, climate strategy, labour practices and community relations. In the ISS rating, it maintained its B level and Prime status and also maintained MSCI's ESG AAA rating, the highest score awarded.
