Household Support Mobile Units - Integrated Paediatric Care (Unidades Móveis de Apoio ao Domicílio - Cuidados Pediátricos Integrados, UMAD CPI), a project from Gil Foundation, launched in Porto with the support of REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais.
Created in 2006, the UMAD CPI project seeks to support children with chronic illnesses and their families through clinical and social support after hospitalization. This project will cover Hospital de São João in Porto and Centro Materno Infantil do Norte, and will allow the programme to reach around 300 children.
Founded in 1999, Gil Foundation's mission is to promote the clinical, social and emotional well-being of children in social and/or clinical risk, seeking their social reintegration in their families with self-sufficiency.
For Patrícia Boura, CEO of Gil Foundation, 'it is a great honour and a source of enormous satisfaction for us to be trusted by these companies, since they enable us to go increasingly further in the support to children with chronic illnesses.'
