REN participates in the drafting of Mozambique’s Renewable energies code

REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais participated in drafting the Renewable Energies Code of Mozambique, a document that is now approved by the Advisory Board of the Mozambican Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy. The Code will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Mozambique, and will be crucial to the objectives of sustainable development, energy transition, efficiency, and reliability of the country's National Electricity System.

The Renewable Energies Code defines the set of technical requirements for connecting Renewable Energy Plants to the grid, the set of principles for verifying compliance throughout their lifetime, and the technical conditions and principles to be followed from the perspective of the Management of the National Electricity System of Mozambique.

The document will also enable the integration of generation from renewable sources, as a guarantee of the quality and safety of the Mozambican National Electricity Grid, the harmonious expansion of Mozambique's electricity sector, the strengthening of Mozambique's role in the Southern African electricity system and in the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), and private investment in the sector.
