REN publishes 2013 Transmission Network Maps

REN has published the national electricity and natural gas transmission network maps referring to January 1st 2013.

Among the projects completed in 2012, the LNG terminal upgrade stands out as a landmark for energy supply security. This is all the more important as it reinforces the capacity to diversify the sourcing of natural gas. Also among the new infrastructures that entered into operation in 2012 are the new 220/60 kV Valpaços substation, in the north part of the country, and in the northern coastal area and south of the Tagus, the new 400 kV connection between Marateca and Fanhões, both introducing greater safety and reliability of the electricity system operation and supply.
