REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais has been recognised by TIME magazine as one of the 500 Most Sustainable Companies in the World in 2025. The distinction comes as part of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2025 initiative, which assesses the performance of companies globally in terms of sustainability and in which TIME is advised by the German research company Statista
With an overall score of 65.99 out of 100, the assessment took into account metrics relating to business sustainability, commitments and sustainability ratings (such as the Carbon Disclosure Project, for example), reporting and transparency (including benchmarks such as the Global Reporting Initiative) and corporate social responsibility, with a particular focus on emissions intensity.
This international recognition highlights REN's track record in integrating environmental, social and governance criteria into its operations, reflecting the company's commitment to a responsible energy transition.
In the 2024 edition of the TIME100 Climate list, Rodrigo Costa, CEO of REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais, was named one of the 100 most influential leaders in the world, personalities who are driving companies towards real climate action.
