TIME Magazine once again recognizes REN as one of the world's most sustainable companies

REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais was recognized by TIME magazine, in partnership with Statista, as one of the 500 Most Sustainable Companies in the World for the second consecutive year. In the 2026 edition of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies ranking, which evaluates companies’ global performance in sustainability, REN has further solidified international recognition of its performance in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas.

According to Margarida Ferreirinha, REN’s Director of Sustainability and Communications, “this distinction recognizes the work we have been doing to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our operations. It is also a sign of the strength of our commitment to creating sustainable value for the country, for our stakeholders, and for future generations.”

The “World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026” ranking is based on indicators grouped into four main areas: business sustainability, sustainability commitments and ratings, transparency and reporting, and corporate responsibility performance.

This international recognition highlights REN’s progress in integrating environmental, social, and governance criteria into its operations and the company’s commitment to a responsible energy transition. The distinction reinforces REN’s position among the leading organizations in sustainability, an area that is increasingly critical to economic and social development.
