Transemel has been recognised for the first time with the ‘Reduction Seal', corresponding to level 2 of the Huella Chile 2024 Programme, an initiative of the Ministry of the Environment that recognises the efforts of organisations in the field of climate action and sustainability.

This important milestone is the result of our company's sustained commitment to responsible environmental management and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, reflecting our conviction to move towards a more sustainable operation.

In line with this, and as part of our climate action plan, we promoted a project to reduce SF₆ gas leaks at the Arica Main Substation, SE Parinacota, one of the compounds with the highest global warming potential. Although Transemel already had an annual preventive maintenance plan in place to control these leaks, it was decided to reinforce this management with the implementation of a sustainability project during the period 2023-2024.

This project consisted of an overhaul of the 220 kV power switch, with an investment of USD 33,000, incorporating new technologies that allowed the equipment to recover its original properties and once again meet factory performance standards. Thanks to this intervention, a 100% reduction in SF₆ gas leaks was achieved at the Parinacota substation, representing a significant advance for both our company and the environment.

Receiving the Reduction Seal validates the efforts made by our team and reinforces our commitment to sustainable development, motivating us to continue promoting concrete actions that generate a positive impact on the community and the environment.
