REN recognised for its commitment to sustainability

REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais was awarded an A rating in the CDP's SEA (Supplier Engagement Assessment), one of the most important and recognised global entities in the disclosure and reporting of environmental information, achieving the highest level of this international rating. This CDP assessment measures the degree of integration of sustainability in supplier relations, analysing aspects such as policies, targets, governance and collaboration strategies. The aim is to encourage practices that contribute to a low-carbon economy, combat climate change and effectively manage climate risks.

In this indicator, which takes into account various environmental and governance parameters, the existence of ambitious targets and the transparency of procedures, REN has been evolving positively in recent years. In the SEA in 2022, it had obtained level D and in 2023 level B. The rating now announced for 2024 is level A – Supplier Engagement Leader.

In February this year, the CDP (Climate Change) had already recognised REN's environmental performance with the highest rating, only awarded to organisations with excellent practices. REN has also made positive progress in recent years in this indicator, which assesses management in relation to climate change, the existence of ambitious targets, initiatives and their progress, and the transparency of procedures. In 2021, it achieved level C, in 2022 level B and in 2023 level A-.

The CDP is a global non-profit organisation that administers the world's only independent environmental disclosure system for companies, capital markets, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.
