'Heróis de Toda a Espécie', the environmental awareness programme by REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais, was awarded bronze in the category Social/Environmental Responsibility of the Company, in 'Prémios Lusófonos da Criatividade'.
'Heróis de Toda a Espécie', is an educational and didactic initiative that seeks to raise the awareness of communities towards the protection of biodiversity, the preservation of the Portuguese forest and the conservation of threatened or endangered animal and plant species. The project was launched by REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais, with the partnership of the Portuguese Ministry of Education, the Portuguese Ministry of the Environment and Energy Transition and the Portuguese Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF - Instituto de Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas), with the technical support of Quercus and the creativity of the Tux & Gill agency.
This initiative, targeting children in the 3rd and 4th years of the first cycle of primary education, seeks to create true ambassadors for this cause. Designed to complement the schools' programmes, the project uses an interactive and dynamic approach, promoting environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility among the young. To make it easier for the schools and for the children to access all the content, a website (www.heroisdetodaaespecie.pt) was created, with teaching materials for use in the classroom, educational games, trivia and news.
The 'Prémios Lusófonos da Criatividade' are an international festival hosted in Portugal that rewards the best advertising and communication work done by agencies, professionals, studios and producers in all Portuguese-speaking countries.
