João Ricardo appointed to the System Development Committee of ENTSO-E

João Ricardo, a Director at REN, has been appointed chairman of the System Development Committee, one of the four committees making up the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity - ENTSO-E.

Among other matters, he will be responsible for the two-year infrastructure plan for the European grid, the Ten Year Network Development Plan and new European connection codes for generation and consumption facilities. These are essential elements for the new boost to the European energy market that the European Commission wishes to achieve by the end of 2014.  

Nick Winser, CEO of the National Grid (UK) and Pierre Bornard, vice-CEO of RTE (France) were elected President and Chairman of ENTSO-E, respectively, at the annual assembly in Geneva on 27 June.
