REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais donated a light-duty vehicle to the Social and Parish Centre of Carregado, in Alenquer. This vehicle will contribute to an improvement in the provision of home assistance services. In addition to this service, the centre is also responsible for a Nursing Home and for a Day Care Centre.
The Social and Parish Centre of Carregado supports over one hundred users every day, and employs nurses, physical therapists, and doctors, totalling over 60 employees and contractors. The institution also supports the Lisbon Food Bank and has a signed protocol with the Municipal Council of Alenquer to support families in the municipality.
For Father Marques Martins, Chairman of the Social and Parish Centre of Carregado, 'the donation of this vehicle will enable improving the home assistance service, which is presently provided to 27 families. This vehicle, for which we are deeply thankful to REN, will be crucial to reaching more people'.

The Social and Parish Centre of Carregado plays an important part in the community, since it covers the needs for geriatric support and provides food assistance to the needy. With its cultural entertainment team, and In addition to this support, the institution promotes numerous activities throughout the year aiming at the interaction between the elderly and the remaining community.
