REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais will be at the Hannover Messe with speed-E, an innovative mobility solution that enables electric vehicles to be charged directly from the electricity transmission grid, that is, from the Very-High-Voltage lines.
This event is regarded as the leading international trade fair for industrial technology and takes place between 30 May and 2 June in the German city of Hannover. REN will be present at the invitation of AICEP and will have a stand where it will present its project.
Speed-E's biggest benefit is the offer of high power, since it is connected to the transmission grid, present throughout the country, thus enabling extending the charging infrastructure offer to a network of around 9,000 km.
The solution's modular architecture also enables customisation, according to the client's power requirements, supporting the needs of the company's operations, without restrictions, through multiple fast and/or ultra-fast chargers. This innovative solution consists of providing an integrated supply solution, starting with the connection to the Very-High-Voltage network, which will perform the conversion to Low Voltage.
Speed-E is a competitive and complementary alternative to traditional ones, guarantees synergies for the global Electricity System, namely in contexts of proximity to the Portuguese National Electricity Transmission Grid, is suitable for high-power contexts (heavy passenger transport or high number of vehicles at the same time, such as in service areas, large hubs, such as public car parks and public transport, decarbonisation of forest management equipment, and the river sector).
This innovative solution positions the TSO (Transmission System Operator) as a facilitator of the transition to sustainable mobility, complementing existing solutions and supporting the decarbonisation of the mobility sector in a cost-effective way, by using the existing Transmission Grid.
The 2022 edition of the Hannover Messe has Portugal as a partner country and is an opportunity for Portuguese companies to affirm themselves among the industry's largest players. Portugal will have a strong presence, spread over four pavilions. The focus will be on the areas of Engineered Parts & Solutions, Energy Solutions, and Digital Ecosystems, in sectors such as metalworking, automotive mobility, aeronautics, production equipment, and renewable energies, among others.
