REN joins Natural.PT

Following the project “Heróis de toda a espécie”, REN joined the Natural.PT, a ICNF project (Nature Conservation Institute and Forestry).

“Heróis de toda a espécie” is a REN initiative, which has the support of ICNF and General Directorate of Education. This is a pedagogical initiative that aims to sensitize communities to the protection of biodiversity, preservation of the Portuguese forest and conservation of animal and plant species threatened or endangered.

“Heróis de toda a espécie” is aimed at children from the 3rd and 4th years of the 1st cycle of elementary education and is designed to complement the school curriculum. With an interactive and dynamic approach promotes environmental awareness and sense of responsibility amongst the young. The program will start with the beginning of the school year in September.

To facilitate access to all content, it was created a website, available in www.heroisdetodaaespecie.pt in which, in addition to materials for use in the classroom, are available educational games, trivia and news. The contents were developed by Bio3, Consulai and also with technical support from Quercus.

Natural.PT is a national commitment to biodiversity, the economy, the heritage and identity of Portugal through the enhancement and promotion of products and services associated with these natural spaces and aims to develop and promote, in an integrated manner, products and services associated with these spaces.

Associated with the uniqueness and environmental and cultural value of the classified areas of mainland Portugal, the Natural.PT brand is an initiative of integrated regional promotion of products and services in existing protected areas and their surrounding next, and with whom they share values and principles of sustainability and appreciation of nature and of indigenous resources.
