REN opens applications for REN Prize 2017

REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais, opened the application period for REN Prize 2017. All students with master's theses in Portuguese colleges in the different branches of Engineering or in the areas of Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Sciences may apply until 8 April.

After the end of the period defined for the submission of the theses, a jury chaired by Professor João Peças Lopes will be responsible for selecting the three winners. The winner of the Prize for the Best Thesis will be awarded a monetary value of €12,500, with the second prize amounting to €6,500 and the third prize amounting to €3,500. There is also the possibility of special mentions awarded to specific theses that deserve to be recognized for their merit.

Created in 1995, REN Prize has sought to support the transformations and developments which have shaped the energy sector in recent years. After 22 years of existence, which make it one of the oldest in the area, REN Prize continues to show REN's solid commitment to the development of the Portuguese energy sector and to the strengthening of the cooperation between academic institutions, technological development and the Portuguese corporate sector.
