REN´s innovation receives international award

REN received the 'Best Innovation' award this year from ITOMS, an international consortium that compares the industry's best practices and identifies the most sustainable processes. ITOMS brings together utilities from across the world, and this year it united more than 27 countries in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic.

The work on the Rogowski technology was behind this award, an innovative solution that has revolutionised how electricity distribution networks operate and which was first implemented among European utilities by REN.

This solution represents a clear advance in terms of the agility and reliability of operations and allocation of costs and resources. 

The ITOMS conferences are held every two years. They focus on a comparative study and debate technical and economic practices and results concerning the operation and maintenance of transmission networks.
