REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais received the 'Best in Class' award in the 'Best Website' category at the Interactive Media Awards 2014, a North American organisation that brings together web designers, programmers and advertisers, among other internet professionals.
REN's website was assessed on five specific criteria: project, content, functionality, usability and conformance with standards. REN scored more than 93 out of a possible 100 on each criterion.
The IMA were created in 2006 by the Interactive Media Council, a North American non-profit organisation that integrates the know-how of experienced web designers, programmers and advertisers, among other internet professionals.
Margarida Ferreirinha, REN's Communications and Sustainability Director, said: 'the corporate site is an important communications tool for REN and it is with great satisfaction that we see the quality of our work being recognised internationally.' For Tiago Azevedo, REN's Information Systems Director, this distinction 'is the recognition and a sign that we are creating something innovative and which is in line with the best on the market.'
