REN wins Gold at the Communicator Awards

The 2017 digital Annual Report of REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais won the first prize (Award of Excellence) at the Communicator Awards, in the Websites - General - Energy category.

Founded more than two decades ago, this international competition receives over six thousand entries each year from companies and agencies from around the world, and is one of the largest awards in the Marketing and Communication fields worldwide.

All the winners in the Communicator Awards are selected by AIVA (Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts), made up of professionals in the areas of media, communication, advertising, creativity and marketing. AIVA's members include executives from organizations such as Airtype Studio, Big Spaceship, Condé Nast, Coach, Disney, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Estée Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, Lockheed Martin, MTV Networks, Pitney Bowes, Ruffer, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Time Inc., Victoria's Secret, Wired and Yahoo!, to name but a few.

Participants are scored on a 100-point scale by the judges. The winners of the Award of Excellence (gold) receive a score of 90 or above, with a score between 70 and 89 being required to receive the Award of Distinction (silver). Projects with scores below 70 points are not ranked.

Behind REN, in the Websites - General - Energy category, was North American company GenCell Energy, which won the silver prize (Award of Distinction).
REN's 2017 digital Annual Report had its graphic concept and web design developed by the White and By agencies.


REN Energia App wins Bronze at the Astrid Awards

The REN Energia App won bronze at the Astrid Awards, in the App category. REN's App - an application that enables accessing exclusive information about the energy sector in Portugal and about REN's work - receives another important international honour, reflecting its usefulness and relevance in the context of multimedia and digital communication.

The Astrid Awards are an international award that rewards excellence and innovation in design. This edition included more than 400 projects from over 13 countries in the competition.

The gold was awarded to the Hong Kong Tourism Board's app and silver to the official application of former Formula One driver Michael Schumacher. The app is a virtual museum that celebrates the career of the most successful Formula One driver in history.

The graphic concept and web design were developed by By, with implementation and development by REN.
